Festive opening of GlobalRize India
After months of preparation, the time had come: on Thursday, August 15, GlobalRize India was officially founded. The festive ceremony took place in Hyderabad, a bustling city in Southern India. Many church leaders from Hyderabad attended the opening.
The Board of GlobalRize India is composed of three distinguished members, including the new director—a professional with a background as a software engineer, church planter, and entrepreneur. The chairman brings extensive experience in missions and is widely known across the country, while another board member is a retired professor with a deep commitment to mission work. This diverse expertise is poised to drive the department’s innovative approach to outreach.
GlobalRize International director Marten Visser said in his speech that the date was symbolic: exactly 77 years earlier, on August 15, 1947, India became independent. The language team leaders of the existing Hindi, Telugu and Tamil language teams enthusiastically shared their experiences with and insights into online evangelism. The opening was a great opportunity to introduce the pastors in the city to the potential and impact of online missions.
After the official part, a fantastic Indian meal was served, so that everyone present had plenty of opportunity to get to know each other.
