BibleLink experiences explosive growth

Use of a clever plugin developed by GlobalRize for displaying Bible texts on websites, BibleLink, is experiencing tremendous growth. Since the well-known US ministry GotQuestions started using the plugin, BibleLink’s statistics have exploded. Within two months, usage of the plugin increased tenfold.

GotQuestions, a website providing Biblical answers to questions about the Christian faith in many languages, saw the potential of the product. Its ‘superior performance and aesthetics’ caught on. “We implemented the plugin because we like its clean design, low impact on the website, and the availability of Bible translations,” the verdict read after the Got Questions Ministries tested BibleLink.

Growth to two million

At the beginning of April, GotQuestions started to use the plugin on their Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Dutch and Romanian pages. The effect on the statistics has proven to be huge: usage increased from 200,000 requested texts per month to two million!

Over 250 websites implemented BibleLink

Since GlobalRize developed the product in the spring of 2021, over 250 websites have implemented the free plugin. GlobalRize has worked hard to obtain licenses for a large number of Bible translations that are now available in BibleLink: 47 Bible translations in 23 languages. That number is still growing, driven by the demand for it from GlobalRize’s own language teams and third-party users. There are currently about twenty more Bible translations for which GlobalRize already has a license and which can be added to the plugin, and another twenty for which a license application is pending.

These impressive results have made the team that developed the plugin very grateful and happy. Reyer Sneller, product owner: “BibleLink is a beautiful tool that allows readers and learners to easily access God’s Word, thus contributing to GlobalRize’s mission. As a team, we are also very glad and grateful that our efforts bring such blessings. It motivates us to keep expanding the product.”

Clever plugin wonderful tool for Bible reading

GlobalRize developed BibleLink in the spring of 2021, primarily for use on GlobalRize’s own websites. It’s a wonderful tool, allowing students of an online Bible course or readers of articles on a website to easily look up a Bible verse when the text only mentions a reference, e.g. John 3:16. BibleLink automatically converts such a reference into a link and when the reader activates the link, a small screen called a pop-up, displays the relevant Bible text. The big advantage is that the reader of an article doesn’t have to look up the Bible text elsewhere. This prevents the reader from being distracted and keeps their focus on the article they are reading, or the course they are working on.

Interest in BibleLink soon grew beyond its initial main user, GlobalRize. The plugin was promoted on the internet as a free product and eagerly picked up on. As a result, the wish to add more languages and Bible translations also grew. The decision of GotQuestions to start using the plugin is a wonderful milestone in the history of BibleLink.
