GlobalRize Launches Large-Scale Training Project for Untrained Pastors in Kenya selecteren
The moment has arrived: On Thursday, January 29, GlobalRize Kenya and Africa International University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide theological training for 10,000 Kenyan pastors. Both parties are highly enthusiastic about this ambitious partnership.
Tobias Omollo, Director of GlobalRize Kenya (pictured left): “This is a great milestone to the ministry of GlobalRize Kenya. Thank you for your prayers and let us continue praying for what God has for us in store” The initial discussions for this agreement began in October 2025. It is wonderful to see concrete steps being taken to turn this vision into a reality.
Kenya is home to more than 100,000 pastors who have had no formal education. These individuals are responsible for leading congregations without access to the necessary theological training. In practice, this lack of education often serves as a breeding ground for false teachings and cults.
Last year, Africa International University successfully trained 1,000 pastors. While this is a great achievement, it represents only 1% of the total number of pastors in need of training. Significant action is required. GlobalRize’s online pastoral course—featuring material provided by our partner, the NET Foundation—will now be deployed to rapidly scale up the number of trained leaders. The university will appoint 50 group mentors, each guiding 20 mentor-pastors, who in turn will each supervise 10 student-pastors. This multiplying model aims to equip 10,000 pastors!
Marten Visser, Director of GlobalRize International, is grateful for the shared enthusiasm: “This is a wonderful way to serve a group that is far too large for traditional Bible schools to reach. It is inspiring to see how the university’s leadership is fully behind this plan, driven by a deep desire to provide the pastors in their country with sound theological formation.”
