Muslims introduced to faith through WhatsApp groups
Reaching Muslims with the Gospel is very difficult, which makes it extra special to hear that it is happening anyway. One of our team leaders for Muslim languages told us how people are coming to Christ through WhatsApp groups.
Every day, the moderators of these app groups post a quote or Bible text in the groups, which is subsequently discussed within the group. In the past two months, thirty new contacts have been added and new participants join every week.
People who have not yet taken the final step to become a Christian can also take part in the groups. This allows them to be introduced to the Christian faith in an approachable way, whereas others who are already Christians, can be built up in their faith by learning how to share the Gospel in this way.
As many as eleven of the twenty peoples on our 2023 Ranking List of Unreached peoples are Muslim peoples. They often live in closed countries, where evangelism is strictly forbidden and perilous. That is why creative ways have to be found to share the Gospel. Introducing people to the faith through WhatsApp groups is one such way!
