The pastor training
The pastor training
The pastors training is a course for pastors who have had little or no opportunity to receive theological education. Thanks to the internet, it is possible for them to take this course.
Training pastors remains a major challenge for the worldwide church. The internet has made receiving training much easier. Even in areas where pastor training has lagged until now, the internet is now being used massively. Since June 2020, GlobalRize has had a partnership with NET Foundation. This organization has developed materials accessible to trainees who have mostly only completed primary school.
- The number of untrained pastors in the world is estimated between 1 and 4 million. GlobalRize does not see internet training as ideal, but as a way to prevent the number of totally untrained pastors from continuing to grow.
- Many pastors in Africa do not have the opportunity to receive biblical education, but they often have cell phones. It is therefore also possible to take the course on a cell phone.

7 courses with different topics
The course consists of 7 modules. Each module covers a different topic.
Module 1
God’s way of salvation
The first module covers salvation and conversion, focusing on how sinners are saved and reconciled with God.
Module 2
Gods call to ministry
The second module covers how God calls sinners and the ministry God gives them.
Module 3
Passion to preach
This practical module focuses on preaching. Students learn to prepare sermons and learn the fundamentals of preaching. Preaching mentors guide this process intensively.
The fourth module covers the New Testament and the background to it. Why is it important to read the New Testament and what can we learn from it?
This module considers the commandment to teach people about God’s way. In the Bible, we find various instructions to teach people to love and obey God. The practical implementation of these is covered in this module.
The Old Testament is as important as the New Testament. This module deals with the content of the Old Testament and the importance of studying it.
The seventh and final module of Pastors Training takes students through the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. Christians are commanded to follow Him and make disciples of all nations.

Practical information
All lessons have a similar structure. The student starts the lesson by reading a text. He then watches videos related to the topic. When the theory has been studied, he has to answer multiple-choice and open questions. Following the answered questions, a personal conversation between course participant and preacher-mentor ensues. The preacher-mentor may ask additional questions.

Joseph's story
One of the trainees who became a mentor is Joseph Oroma from Uganda. He has been a pastor in a local congregation since 2011. A year ago, he discovered pastors’ training and since a few months he has been eager to share his knowledge and experience with fellow pastors who were also unable to study.
He does not always manage to be available online for the trainees, due to poor internet connection or because he is busy with his own congregation.
This summer, for instance, they were severely affected by the drought, which meant he had to do a lot of pastoral and diaconal work and sometimes couldn’t be online for weeks.

Joseph's testimony
I received Jesus Christ in 2004 around November, when I had just returned from the war. As a child, I was kidnapped by a rebel army and thus involved in this war. I could consistently go to church because others were going, it was only when I came in contact with the Holy Spirit that the reality of my Christianity became apparent.
I flourished in church and was very involved in the service of God. By the grace of God, I was able to open local churches in different villages. Around 2011, God gave me a vision to open a gospel ministry, “MOUNT ZION GLORIOUS INTERNATIONAL GOSPEL MINISTRY”.
I kept asking for God’s will on this until the vision was born in 2021. Although we are less than a year into this move, we are really seeing great favour from God in this ministry and so far, we already have the church in at least two different districts.
We are praying as we strive to bring the ministry to the Islamic world because we hear God saying that we need to move in that direction.
I welcome the strategies and vision to reach everyone for Christ. The nature of GlobalRize’s work makes it possible for me to serve God with them even while working at a local church. I really like this move because it also helps me gain more experience, especially when I also meet pastors from different cultures and backgrounds online.
