Curious about Isa

July 22, 2025

It is possible: studying the Quran as a Muslim and developing a desire for Isa, or Jesus Christ. Michael*, our team leader of the West Punjabi team, tells us how a Muslim cleric contacted him via his Facebook page. The man wanted to know more about the Jesus of the Christians.

Michael: “This man, married and father of two children, was highly respected as a cleric within his Islamic community. For years, Nadeem* had studied the Koran and Islamic writings. In them, he also read about Isa (Jesus).”

Honest and sincere questions

“Deep in his heart, curiosity about the person of Jesus Christ quietly grew. He developed a strong desire to learn about Jesus from a Christian perspective.” Nadeem began to ask questions. “His honest and sincere questions led to beautiful conversations about life, teaching, and the divinity of Jesus,” Michael says.

Digital Bible

In the days that followed, Nadeem continued to ask questions about Jesus. He longed to explore the Gospel. Michael: “We shared a digital Bible with him, and he began reading from it daily. Every day he sent us messages with his thoughts on Bible passages and on Jesus. He started participating in our online Bible lessons via Zoom. With each lesson, his desire to grow in his understanding of the Christian faith grew stronger. He asked good questions and eagerly absorbed the teaching.”

Sharing joy and truth with others

The decisive moment came: Nadeem gave his life to Jesus. A new chapter in his life began. He started sharing the Gospel with his wife, and she too became interested in the teachings of Jesus. Michael: “Nadeem is so happy that his wife wants to accompany him on this new journey of faith. He told us that when he lies in bed at night, he keeps thinking, ‘I must tell others about this. I have discovered the truth, and Jesus is the only Savior who can free people from their sins. If you want to receive freedom and eternal life, you must allow Jesus into your life.’ He has an ever-deepening desire to proclaim the truth in his community. It is no longer enough to keep this joy to himself.”

How powerful is God’s Spirit and how great is His grace. “Nareem’s journey of faith testifies to God’s faithfulness: from respected Muslim priest to someone searching for the truth, to courageous follower of Jesus,” says Michael. “He and his wife are ready to share the truth they have found with others.”
