God arranges a special meeting
In Laos, it can be dangerous to be a Christian. Christians who are involved with missionary work, often need to remain anonymous due to security considerations. But sometimes, God brings people together in a very special way, to encourage them. This happened to a Lao mentor, who didn’t know what had become of one specific student.

In Laos, a young student found one of our Bible courses via our Lao Facebook page. Towards the end of the course, the student expressed the wish to become a Christian. The mentor found out in which part of the country the young student lived and provided the contact phone number for a Lao pastor in that area. The young student phoned the pastor and they agreed to meet. The pastor led the student to Jesus and the student joined the pastor’s congregation.
Secret Joy
A while later the pastor in question was visiting a church in another part of the country. He didn’t know that he was visiting the home church of this young student’s mentor. As part of his sermon, the pastor shared an amazing experience with the online spreading of the Gospel. He had received a phone call from a total stranger, who had heard about Jesus via the internet and wanted to become a follower of Jesus. The pastor was utterly amazed that this person had contacted him and wondered how his phone number had ended up in their possession. Of course, the pastor didn’t realise that the mentor of this ‘total stranger’ was in the congregation, quietly enjoying the story and offering a prayer of thanks to God for His work!
Anonymous
And, no, the mentor didn’t tell the pastor about being the one who passed on the phone number – to do so would have removed their anonimity.
But it was a very special moment when God arranged for the mentor to hear this ‘follow-up’ testimony, as mentor and student hadn’t been in touch again after the student had completed the Bible course, and the mentor would never have known.
