Pray for a young Vietnamese woman who had a dream
Special things are happening in our Vietnamese team. God is at work! At the same time, your prayers are needed, because there is a spiritual battle going on. Will you pray for the young Vietnamese woman in the story below?
Team leader Eunice Tu told us: “One of our mentors, Sarah, shared that she just got a new student, a woman who reads tarot cards. “She believes that all gods (Buddha, Allah, Jesus) lead to the same truth. But she said that God had spoken to her in a dream, telling her to seek out Lời của Chúa (the Word of God) to learn more about Him.”
And so it began! The 27-year-old woman had indeed searched online and started our Bible course in Vietnamese. “Sarah felt overwhelmed and very happy at the same time. She asked us to pray for her so that she could mentor this student well.” Eunice adds, “This is such a wonderful reminder that God draws people to Himself in the most unexpected ways.”
The woman ran a vegetarian restaurant and also worked as a tarot card reader. “I read tarot cards and also teach tarot card reading. I heal people and listen to their problems,” she told Sarah. The woman has since closed the restaurant so that she has more time to rest and enjoy life, as she says. That is also why she had time to take the Bible course.
She is a woman who thinks a lot about life and her role in it: “Wisdom gives me the confidence to be enthusiastic about life. When I start something, I ask myself: what lessons can I learn from this? That gives me more inspiration to love life.”
The student continued: “I am searching for my mission. Who am I, where do I come from, and what is the meaning of my existence on this earth?” She is very concerned about the climate and believes that we “need love, moral awareness, clear thinking, and a sense of responsibility to take good care of the earth.”
All in all, a picture emerges of a woman who wants to be there for others, wants to lead a good and moral life, and is searching for the meaning of life. It has now been a week since Sarah and the woman last had contact. Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against ‘the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.’ (Eph. 6:12). Your prayer that she will come to know Jesus as the Way, the Truth, and the Life is needed!
- Pray for wisdom and love for Sarah as she guides this woman.
- Thank God that He spoke to the woman in a dream.
- Pray that she will continue with the Bible course and give her heart to Jesus.
